Our chickens are purchased from farmers in the eastern U.S. and driven to us within 1 day of hatching to minimize stress. They are kept warm and fed an organic staple daily until they are fully fledged. The birds are then put on pasture in tractors (partially covered mobile cages) to protect them from predators and the elements and moved onto fresh grass at least once daily. Their diet of fresh forage continues to be supplemented with fermented organic feed.

The birds are harvested by the same hands that raised them and with minimal stress. We do this because we believe that stress has a direct impact on the quality of the final product. Our practices are humane, clean, and designed to bring the highest quality product to consumers.

Our chickens are allowed to free-range every day within our silvopasture system while also being protected from aerial and ground predators that share the unique piece of conservation land on which the farm sits. Their natural forage is supplemented with an organic staple layer blend prepared by Green Mountain Organics in Vermont to make sure that they are getting all of the nutrition they need to be healthy. They are moved to fresh silvopasture regularly, not only giving them access to fresh ground but also helping to till the soil on which they forage. Their mobile coop moves along with them making each new piece of land feel like home for them.
